But at that point I suppose you have to just keep going with it anyway, and make the best of it, eh?

A friend's PHD project turned out midway through to be an octopus.

My master's turned into a large dog when I wasn't looking. We're in some sort of detente at the moment - but soon I shall have to start buying steaks and feeding it.
